Hi! Thank you for visiting my website!
I am Lisa Westman and I am an author, speaker, and consultant who provides customizable learning opportunities and professional development services for K-12 educators nationwide and internationally.
My presentations typically focus on differentiation, instructional coaching, and standards-based grading. Most importantly, my presentations are designed to “keep it real” focusing on specific strategies that all educators can implement after our time together.
Prior to becoming a consultant, I spent over 15-years working in public school systems serving as an instructional coach specializing in differentiation and a middle school teacher for gifted humanities, ELA, and social studies.
I am the author of Student-Driven Differentiation: 8 Steps To Harmonize Learning In The Classroom (Corwin Press May 2018) and an educational blogger (for Education Week, Education Week Teacher, edutopia, Corwin Connect, and lisawestman.com).
I am a frequent presenter at educational conferences and have presented at ASCD, ISTE, AMLE, Visible Learning, IAGC, ICE, IETC, ILASCD, and ICIC and other conferences. I have also provided keynote presentations and led multi-day professional development sessions for K-12 teachers and administrators in various school systems throughout the United States.
Most importantly, I am a parent of a fourth-grader and a seventh-grader, enjoy destressing at the Bar Method, love music, and the City of Chicago! Interestingly, I met my husband when we were assigned to a district committee together when we were both teachers in the same suburban Chicago school district.
